September 4th what a bumpy ride we had from morning to afternoon we watched you on the scans and listened to you on the heart monitor till the doctors decided you needed to be born even though you were'nt due till the 11th November.tea time came and so did little baby alfie weighing 700 grams and perfect in every way right down to your six little toes you were incubated and vented for awhile and we were told you may not survive for more than a few hours you had a bit of jaundice and bracardia but but you were stunning you were our first grandchild i was overjoyed we watched you grow and blossom but sadly on the 13th of October 2007 you could fight no more due to aspiration of milk which had damaged your internal organs .we miss you alfie everyday we think about you and wonder who you would of looked like what your laugh and smile would be like we would of spoiled you rotten.you gave us 39 days of being a nannie and grandad and we felt so proud and still are that you where chosen to be our baby grandson alfie.you were our little soldier always going into battle.we love you so much and you took a little piece of everyones heart from all who met you when you passed away.alfie you will always be loved and missed but never forgotten.

I heard you crying yesterday,
And felt your heart-sent love.
So I’m sending you this message
Now, from Heaven up above.
You’re wondering if I’ll celebrate
My Birthday (way up here).
I know you’re missing me today
I feel your essence near.
God planned a special day for me,
He told me with a wink.
He’d ordered me a special cake
(It’s Angel food, I think).
Balloons will fill the streets for me,
They float up through the clouds.
And we have lots of friends up here
That make us laugh out loud.
There is a Birthday carousel,
Jewelled horses ride the wind,
With music playing, oh so sweet…
The magic never ends.
I’ve made so many friends, you see
We laugh and play and sing.
We ride our bikes and play jump rope
And sleep in Angel’s wings.
We’ll have our cake and ice cream
And open gifts - SURPRISE!
But we don’t blow out our candles here
Instead, they light the skies.
